When I grow up, I want to be one of two things.
1. A Fashion Stylist
2. A Fashion Editor for a fabulous glossy magazine.
Or both!
Three weeks ago, I left the gorgeous pink office of
Perth Fashion Festival and went to assist Perth's Premier stylist, Teagan
Sewell. I had met Teagan while I was working at PFF and not only was her work
fashion forward and impressive, she was also the sweetest person I had met so
far in the industry. I was looking for an opportunity to get involved with
styling so when I heard of an opportunity to assist Teagan, naturally I jumped
at it.
When I went for an interview with her I was a
little nervous. I knew how many girls would have taken advantage of the
opportunity to work with her, and I really wanted the job! When Teagan walked
to the large glass doors of her studio, with a big smile, dressed head to toe
in a Black ELLERY outfit garnished with her own Jewellery, I felt immediately
at ease. And then she did something that I hadn't yet experienced being a newby
in the industry, she made ME a cup of coffee...what a legend!
The amazing thing about working with Teagan is that
I get to work closely with the amazing designer garments. Myself and a few other lovely ladies will be
assisting her with her styling projects in the lead up to the 2012 Perth
Fashion Festival.
I'll keep you posted on all the exciting things we
get up to! But now, I need to sleep, because I have to get up at 4am to get to
Perth Fashion Festival's Program Launch. I wish it were a night time event.
