Celebrities, beauty queens and Vogue stylists alike have noticed the potential of these labels and have requested them for magazine covers, public appearances or simply to add a piece to their own deluxe wardrobes.

It many be on the runway, in a glossy fashion magazine or in your favourite fashion boutique, but prepare to be seeing a lot more of these talented Western Australian designers.

EMILY LEWIEN

The Look: Unique Fun, sexy and unique twists on the hottest trends

After creating unique garments for her own wardrobe, Emily was inundated by friends and strangers who desperately wanted to get their hands on her designs, and so By Emily Lewien was born.

By Emily Lewien is a label for young, sassy women.  The ultra-feminine designs have already reached the wardrobes of international models, including Supermodel Me winner, Tiff Warne.

Never one to simply follow style trends, Emily predicts emerging trends and manipulates them into wearable and distinctive garments. So, you can be sure when wearing By Emily Lewien you’re outfit is going to be the perfect combination of on trend and unique.
Although Emily is still in her final year of study, she has big plans for her label and hopes to gain the attention of local and international stocklisters upon her graduation.
We have every confidence in Emily and her label, as women are already demanding her designs before the samples have even received their final stitch.

BIKINI ATOLL

Designer: Louise Bond
The Look: Striking, tailored swimwear
Where to buy: Daneechi Swimwear, Violet Pilot, Sax Sea, Style Palace and online at www.bikiniatollswimwear.com

Flattering cuts, bold colours, striking patterns and exquisite fabrics are just some of the reasons why new swimwear label, Bikini Atoll, is making big waves in the Western Australian fashion industry.

Each of Bikini Atoll’s designs is named after one the alluring Bond girls and, like the Bond girls, Bikini Atoll is unapologetically feminine. It exudes glamour and sophistication while offering some serious sex appeal.

Bikini Atoll’s talented designer, Louise Bond, has extensive experience in swimwear design. Over the past twenty years she has developed and perfected her skills whilst working with labels Kooey and Dhufish. It was her vast array of knowledge and experience that enabled Louise to step out on her own in 2012, and create Bikini Atoll.

After an incredibly successful first year, Bikini Atoll has some exciting things in the pipeline. In the bid to celebrate all body types, Louise is hoping design a range of stylish swimwear for the larger busted ladies and is currently working on a cruise wear collection for S/S 14. Bikini Atoll has also been selected to show at this year’s StyleAid.

NATALIE ROLT

Designer: Natalie Rolt
The Look: Sexy, glamorous, fashion forward women’s wear.
Where to buy: A stall at the Fremantle Markets once a month. The next stall will be open from June 14th to June 16th. Natalie Rolt can also be ordered online from her Facebook page.

Natalie Rolt is fast becoming the go-to girl for party and evening wear. After debuting her self-titled label, Natalie Rolt, in December of 2011 she has been serving the women of Perth with stunning gowns, glamorous party dresses and her fan-favourite, eveningwear jumpsuits.
Natalie hand dyes luxurious silks to create perfect party garments.

Her designs feature striking hues, bold prints and expert draping, making them incredibly flattering on any figure. Each design is a limited edition that has been carefully crafted by the designer herself. So, with Natalie’s designs, it really is a case of first in best dressed.

Natalie can already name Miss Universe Australia, Renae Ayris, as one of her top clients. After wearing a Natalie Rolt design on this year’s Urban Couture runway, Renae requested the designer make her a gown of her own. Since then, Renae has worn Natalie Rolt when she crowned the top 6 finalists in the Miss Universe Australia State Final and will soon wear an exquisite Natalie Rolt design when she crowns this year’s new Miss Universe Australia.
It is hard to believe that this young designer is still in her graduating year of study. Natalie hopes her designs will again grace the runway at this year’s Perth Fashion Festival and is looking to secure a manufacturer for her label.

You can follow Natalie’s Instagram @natalieroltdesigns to see all the incredible clothing that will be for sale at the next Natalie Rolt market stall. A word to the wise, get in quick!

DYSPNEA

Designers: Aimee-Cherie Kendall, Jameen Zalfen and Rachel Motteram
The Look: Edgy separates for young women
Where to buy: Made to order until Stocklist announcements later in the year for Perth and Sydney.

Dyspnea is made up of three talented designers, Aimee-Charie, Jameen and Rachel. They met as fresh-faced fashion students and began working together on school projects. They soon learned that their strengths and weakness played against each other’s and that together, they created one unstoppable fashion team. So, it seemed only natural that when it came time for the girls to take the reins on their fashion careers, that they would do so together.

Dyspnea is an energetic, fashion forward label that pushes the creative boundaries of design. The girls create impeccably tailored leather pieces and pair them with accents of new textiles, such as this season holographic fabrics. The final look is slick, a little futuristic and downright cool. Cool enough that we could totally see It Girl Cara Delevingne rocking some of Dyspnea’s pieces.

Dyspnea’s edgy look has already been noted by some of the fashion industries elite. Vogue Magazine collaborator and stylist, Meg Gray, has chosen to use Dyspnea for her up coming photo shoot in Sydney. This opportunity is going to expose the label to new and exciting opportunities. A few of which already exist but the girls have been sworn to secrecy about them for the next few months.

The girl’s aim for Dyspnea is to conquer Perth and then the world, as they hope to gain more local and international stocklisters in the coming year. And, as always, the girls wish to travel to source more new and interesting fabrics to work back into their designs.

EMILY MUCO

Designer: Emily Muco
The Look: Unique, elegant and a little bit quirky
Where to buy: Lady Petrova, on Flinders Lane in Melbourne, online at www.emilymuco.com and will be available at Hatch after it’s relocation.

Emily Muco has been on Perth’s fashion radar after she took out two awards at her graduation show last year. She went on to win a public voting competition to be stocked in the Western Australian Fashion Award winning boutique, Hatch. After three successes in such a short time frame, the industry sat up and took notice.

The Emily Muco label is characterised by its colour and vibrancy. The vintage-style fabrics combined with contemporary cuts make these designs fun and quirky. Yet, with their superior quality, they still manage to retain a sense of class and elegance.

The label is designed for women looking for something a little bit different and special. If a girl wants to look gasp-worthy for a night, she needs little more than one of Emily’s pieces.
The potential of Emily Muco’s success was reinforced when Melbourne’s highly regarded Lady Petrova boutique agreed to stock the label. A stocklister of this calibre for such a young label is an incredible achievement and is taste of what is to come for Emily Muco.

Emily is currently planning to further her knowledge of fashion by studying abroad in Europe. During her time there, she hopes to make new connections to expand the awareness of the Emily Muco label.

So there you go, the next time you are looking for a super stylish and unique outfit, hit up one of these designers!
