I love researching and brainstorming for photo shoots. It pretty much entails me flicking through my favourite glossy mags, watching films with alluring cinematography and collecting items, pictures, art, photographs and even smells and textures, that I feel defines the story I am trying to tell. During my research I stumbled on what has to be one of my all-time favourite photo shoots. Shot for Vogue Italia by Tom Munro, this shoot captures the gorgeous Miranda Kerr in a way that the camera never has seen her before. Combining the innocence of her striking face with direct, hard stares the images tell a dark yet seductive story. The effortless, fashion forward style married with high contrast black and white shades and a film grain finish seduced me and my obsession with film noir!
