This was my first experience styling a famous person, and it was so much fun! Last night was Claremont Quarter's VIP shopping night and they had a very special guest, The Voice's Sarah De Bono!
Prepping outfits for a celebrity is pretty much just like pulling clothes for any photo shoot or person. You want to to get the best options available to suit the clients personal style, but most of all, you want options. Lots and lots of options! It is a stylists worst nightmare for a client to dislike everything yo have pulled for them. To prevent this, you give them so many options, they have to love something! Sarah's clothes had to movable, comfortable and allow her to breathe while she was belting out songs, so most of the outfits we had for her were awesome blazer/pant combos in bright colours and bold patterns. She ended up choosing a variety to the pieces we pulled for her and put together a loud, eccentric and really colourful outfit.

Our other mission for the VIP night was to showcase five spring/summer trends on five of Perth's best models. Our looks were bold prints, fleuros, sheer/lace, floral and statement accessories. All pieces were to be chosen from retailers in Claremont Quarter, which wasn't difficult because there are so many amazing shops! I loved all the outfits, usually I have a stand out fave but I couldn't really choose this time!
We (Teagan, myself and Teag's other assistant Sarah) had pulled all the outfits the day before so after grabbing a few last minute options Sarah (the stylist one haha) and I went upstairs to steam and prep the outfits for the models. Sarah De Bono and her crew were in the room warming up and adding final touches to hair and makeup. We all had a little chat and a laugh while we were getting ready, so the atmosphere was relaxed. Sarah's fans were already lined up outside, screaming in unison, waiting for her to arrive onstage.
After all the models had arrived, we dressed them in their outfits, took some photos and then we walked them out to the stage area and the place just erupted with the screams of hundreds of young girls. Sarah (the stylist) and I felt just a bit special being able to walk backstage with the possy haha. Although one security guard was hesitant on letting us through. Pffft! Do you know who we are? We almost had a BF (bitch fit) ;)
Finally, it was show time and the models and Sarah went onstage to ear piercing squeals. Seriously, that sound could be used as a weapon of mass destruction.
Sarah sang her songs and then spent hourrrssss signing autographs and having photos with her fans which was really sweet. Usually the celeb wont wait around to meet everyone but she did, so all her young fans got to meet her. I have no idea how someone is expected to smile for that long. But I guess she loves it. I personally dislike young children haha
