Perth Fashion Festival has released a sneak peek of their 2012 creative campaign, and it is smokin'! The stunning Nicole Pollard, who is the face of PFF 2012, graced the cover of STM magazine in a spectacular, floor length Kitty Grace gown. West Australian fashion labels such as Ellery, Ae'lkemi, Morrison, Zhivago, Jamie Lee, One Fell Swoop, Kim Barton, Wild Horses and Aurelio Costarella, will drape over the statuesque 188cm frame of Pollard, to create a dramatic look that promises to be PFF's hottest campaign to date. And really, how could it not be with the impressive creative team behind it? If you don't know the team, let me introduce you.
Firstly, we have stylist extraordinaire and designer, Michelle Jank. Michelle Jank has an extensive, star-studded portfolio of work. She has worked along side of Alex Perry, Collette Dinnigan and Sex and the City's Patricia Field, among many other high profile fashion personalities. Her designs have covered the glossy pages of Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Elle, and her jewelry has been worn by Hollywood heavyweights Rose Byrne, Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman.
Then, we have M.A.C senior make-up artist, Nicole Thompson. Nicole is one of Australia's most sought after make-up artists. Working for M.A.C she has been the principle make-up artist in many of Australia's Fashion Festivals, leading teams of over 65 make-up artists. Let's face it, just being chosen as a senior make-up artist for M.A.C Cosmetics means she is ridiculously talented and a clear leader in her field. She is constantly in the media as everyone wants to hear make-up tips from the perfectly glossed mouth of the artist who has worked with the best in Australian fashion and beauty.
Nicole's hair in PFF's campaign was designed and styled by one of Australia's most renowned hair stylists, Brad Ngata. He has won numerous prestigious industry awards such as the coveted Australian Hairdresser of the Year award, not once but twice, and was named one of Australia's most influential style-setters in The Sunday Telegraph Magazine. Ngata has had his legendary hands on the gorgeous locks of super models Miranda Kerr and Jennifer Hawkins. He has also featured on televisions shows including Make Me a Supermodel and Australia’s Next Top Model. I could go on for many more paragraphs describing just how talented and fabulous Brad Ngata is, but you can just wait for the full campaign release to see for yourself ;)
The man behind the camera was Pierre Toussant. Toussant shot a PFF campaign ten years ago. When comparing the two you can see the evolution of both the Festival and his work. It speaks volumes about how far the Perth fashion industry has come. The new images are daring and dramatic! I'm so excited to see the whole campaign!
Last year, PFF had their biggest and most successful year to date. The Festival gathered an impressive audience of over 40,000 people. Labels such as Wheels and Doll Baby and Aurelio Costarella strutted their latest collections down the runway, thrilling the crowds, VIPs and celebrities.
The date for the PFF 2012 has been set for September 19th to the 25th, so get your hottest W.A designer outfits ready because this year is not to be missed! With the festival so close tickets will be on sale soon! I'll let you know the day they are released, so keep an eye out!
Peace Out!
